SkinwellAI can generate an optional written AI narrative to explain your skin

scores in plain language. This page explains exactly what is — and is not — sent

to a third-party AI provider.

Your face photo is never sent to a third-party AI. All image analysis

(MediaPipe/OpenCV) happens on our own backend. For the AI narrative we send our

AI provider (OpenAI) only:

as text — no image, no name, no contact info.

Consent is required and reversible. The AI narrative runs **only after you

explicitly opt in. If you decline, we generate the narrative on our own

servers** with no third-party AI, and your report still completes. You can grant

or withdraw consent any time in Profile → Privacy & AI; if our policy version

changes, we ask again.

Provider terms. OpenAI processes the text to return narrative content. Per

OpenAI's API terms, inputs are not used to train their models by default, and

we do not use this data for advertising.

Safety. Generated text is filtered for non-diagnostic, non-shaming wording

and validated against your real scores; if it cannot be validated, we fall back

to a deterministic, on-server narrative.
